If official update is not there then search for your phones forum in xda.

I have searched everywhere.
But MiUi rom is best.
I also using redmi 2 prime and used android marsh mallow but some bugs are still there.
So therefore use only the stock rom.

Stock , is better but not all time, cynogen and aosp are really heart taking ROMs.
Miui has limited features in comparison to custom ROMs. Ya bugless stable custom ROMs are rarely made.

i also have a redmi 2 prime. i have used Nx and HTC remix roms based on Android MM. both were best but there were many bugs. so now i am back to miui. so if u just wants to try out features of Android L and Android MM and you have wifi connection then u can go for custom roms.
otherwise miui is best

Stock is always best my dear friend. we use to upgrade and due to which we dont know anything just the version is superior than mine and it wud be goog we assume so.

Custom has always bugs but only hard users can get rid over it.. I dont think that for a new player it wud be a best buy for getting into customs... their are lots of issues and risk in all these which we dont discuss .
well Stock is always best upon Custom.

If you have installed many apps then don't change because other than miui roms after2-3 days will start hanging.....if you don't have many apps installed then you can try other roms .......and marshmallow bugs are now fixed so you can try that.........and if you want to try, try this
http://en.miui.com/type-65-546.html
and mi devices sometime needs battery calliberation so do that after new rom

It would be SOFT BRICKED not Rooted if flashing fail in between. Custom recovery is best way to flash any rom and infact custom recovery has lots of other options which stock recovery lack.

1) Take a backup of all the data on your Xiomi Redmi 2.
2) Charge he battery fully (at least 80%)
3) Use the following steps to enable USB debugging:
4) Go to System
5) Open About Device
6) Tap on Build Number 7 times
7) Go to Developer Options
8) Enter the USB debugging option and enable it
