nope bro u can't use it like that as bsnl evdo uses different cdma evdo network,, you don't need a sim card for it
and if u are useing rs 750 plan u can use it anywhere across india in roaming

Ok, so first of all i would like to suggest all heavy users (Max downloading and uploading) to go with BSNL EVDO, as it is giving Max speed of 3.1Mbps, over that if in your you get 2.1 Mpbs, then also your download speed average will be 260Kbps in IDM.
Secondly it is a CDMA service, you will not face issues in connecting your device as CDMA network is far better and stronger than GSM.
Rs 750 plan comes in postpaid and prepaid both, both are the same, providing same speed and unlimited data for 30days.
If you dont use too much internet for browsing or downloading, then go for plans of lesser amount available at BSNL.

If you are going for new connection you will have to pay Rs 1199/- to get BSNL EVDO device, that is yours for life :P
over that if you go with postpaid or prepaid connection. You will have to pay Rs49/- for BSNL CDMA sim that you will be using in your EVDO.
It gives you free ROAMING in all over INDIA, so if you are a traveler, it is useful to u too.

I saw someone asking about WIFI with this device, I recommend to use TP-LINK TL-MR3220 costing around Rs. 1560/-
This will make your area/home/office wifi enabled, with a good range as it had 5dBi antenna.

Overall, BSNL EVDO is currently the best option for everyone who is going for paid net. as it is afordable, Roaming Free, Better Coverage and Good Speed :)

Bo online help is available this, it is available in all India every region, but check what speed the user are getting in your area by asking some current EVDO user in your area or directly step in to BSNL office.
